Our school is a "Title I" school, and as such, many students do not have the opportunity for extra growth. Book club last year allowed scholars to grow and to take extra responsibilities to read and participate during their lunch time. We have roughly 100 scholars in the fifth grade. Last year, over 30 of those students had participated in the book club over a 1 month span. Other scholars were asking to join when they saw their peers were enjoying having book club so much! The scholars are anxious to begin another book club, and ask about it often. We would like to continue the rich discussions this year!
