I have a newly created fifth grade class this year. Many of the equipment and materials were removed from this classroom (used as a virtual class) last school year, and given to other teachers who needed the materials more. This school year, this classroom needs to be transformed into a new fifth grade homeroom and many things that were not returned needs to be restocked. This includes playground equipment such as footballs and basketballs, reliable headphones for students who need them, a microphone to hear students under their masks, individual white boards, and microscopes for science observation. I also do not have many of the learning resources that my colleagues have, and this is where Teachers Pay Teachers gift cards are valuable. Funds were not spent for an adequate ELA, Science, or Social Studies curriculum for this new class. Through TPT, I can purchase fantastic Common Core lessons and other resources to help with things like management, engagement, and interactive Google activities created by teachers. While my students could benefit from so much more, these things will help a lot!
