I have fourteen 3rd and 4th graders who are challenged in math and language arts skills. They are a mix of boys and girls with different personalities and quirks. My 4th graders are learning to write cursive and are memorizing their multiplication facts. The third graders are learning about graphing and range, median, mode and mean. We are working on using "big ideas" with supporting details in our writing. The students just finished reading "Freckle Juice" as a class and made 'mini books' to retell the story. In the upcoming week, we will be making turkey's out of pine cones and then writing stories about them. I am always striving to make my students better individuals by promoting social, emotional, and academic growth. We do a lot of partner reading, and group work to promote social skills and team building. I love my school and I am thankful of the support and encouragement that my colleagues give me. I am pleased to be part of a school that encourages a well-rounded student.
