I teach seventh and eighth grade students who reside in a low income community. Many of these students struggle with personal issues outside of school, such as gang violence, and being primary caretakers of younger siblings.
When my students arrive at school they know that it is an environment where they can lay their problems down and focus on school. I try to make the learning environment fun and engaging for my students.
