In our small school, it is very easy to get to know most of the students- even if they are not in your classes. My students are vivacious 7th and 8th graders. Most live in the apartment buildings a stone's throw from the school building in a low-income neighborhood of the Bronx. Many students are products of strong-immigrant households and many are English Language Learners.
