Our school is a large, urban, traditional high school. We have a very diverse population, ethnically and economically, and this is reflected in the engineering classes. Teachers and students are encouraged to pursue passionate learning experiences, and thus we have a huge number of clubs, sports, and extra-curricular groups. Our pre-engineering department has grown over the past 10 years to include diverse topics such as biotechnical, architecture, stringed instruments (lutherie), robotics, and commercial design. Students often will complete many of these topics over the course of their high school careers, and go on to pursue science, math and engineering degrees in college.
