My school is a Title I school with a population consisting of 79% Hispanic, 12% African-American, 7% Asian/Pacific Islander and 2% white. These students crave new knowledge and creative ways to learn. We are considered to be an urban school and the more hands on ways we can introduce and teach students about sustainability, composting and gardening the more effective the lessons and life long learning. Our students have a lot of school and personal pride, providing this learning experience that they can also take ownership of is a priceless lesson.
