It is a fast-paced world and things are constantly changing. As a teacher it is my job to help prepare and set a foundation for my students to be able to succeed in our world. In my classroom not only do I want to teach them to read, write and do math, but I want them to become explorers of social studies and science. By teaching them Spanish I hope to reinforce their first language, or introduce them to a language that they will hopefully continue to learn and become bilingual. I hope to instill a desire to learn that will be with them the rest of their lives. I work in a low-income school were 100% of students receive free or reduced priced lunch. Many are also English Language Learners. It is a lot of work and at times a struggle, but it has never stopped their desire to discover.
