I am blessed to be a first grade teacher in a small Kentucky town. Unfortunately, many of my students live below the poverty line and often do not have books or other learning materials at home. My goal is to create a safe, encouraging learning environment for my students where they can forget the troubles that are going on at home and become lifelong learners who are excited about learning and growing. I want to plant a love for learning in my students' hearts and I strive to make sure all of my students feel safe and confident in our classroom. I want my students to understand that even though we are all different, we are a family in our classroom and we take care of one another. I never want my students to feel that their home life will define who they are and what they can become in the future. My dream for each of my students is for them to grow up to be individuals who love to learn and want to make the world a better place.
