I teach high school math in a middle-class, close knit community. My students are mostly college bound and are motivated to do well. However, they are also accustomed to doing well and to having things come easily, so they aren't always willing to take academic risks and just try a problem. Our school and district are behind in technology and while most of my students do have access to Internet and smart phones, within the school there are limited resources that numerous teachers share.
