My students are awesome. I teach students from kindergarden to six grade, special needs to regular ed. I teach at a predominately black urban school where the students and their families have grown up together with the exception of a few military families. There are approx. 80% of the student body who receive reduced lunches. My students struggle in every core subject area. The art, music, PE, and library teachers help the students in small groups to aid in passing their state test. Even though they struggle on the state test, they somehow manage to maintain their accreditation as a whole unit this year. My students receive the basic needs from their parents as far as school supplies and other things. My parrents are very supportive. My special needs students are very sweet and very smart. They surprise me everyday with their knowledge of music. Some of my students are very hard workers and are willing to do what they need to do to pass their test in class.
