The Pawesome club allows students to do activities on their own pace. It allows for quiet peer competition and loud peer praise. It allows for self guidance and goals to be put in place to help academic and behavioral success.
Our base is learning on our own pace. The students will have a visual sticker chart and when a goal is met, they will get to put a sticker on the chart and get a medal. After earning many stickers, they will be given a choice of prize and also get a paw print on the big wall.
This allows students to be excited for their peers and for those students earning a prize/paw print a chance to feel successful. The more stickers up on the chart allows other students to want to get more as well. Its almost like a friendly competition where everyone is a winner.
