My school is very diverse. Approximately 45% of our students fall under free and reduced lunch, and 30% of our school's population come from homes where English is not the first language. Our ELL population reflects this diversity as well. Even with the variety of backgrounds in our class, students here are willing to work hard and often work together to get tasks done. They face many hurdles to achieve the same outcomes as their native English speaking peers, but my students are ready and willing to do so.
Last year we started an after school club to help students who were falling behind in their classes. We did not have access to up to date technology, and had to be creative about homework completion. I would like to begin building a class set of Chromebooks so all my students have access to what they need. The four Chromebooks I am asking for would be a great start for serving our highest needs students.
