My students are hardworking, enthusiastic first grade students. In my classroom, I have a diverse learning community complete with several students who speak English as their second language, some students with special needs, and even some homeless students. Our school in general is located in a suburban community with 41% of our student population qualifying for free and reduced lunch. My students do not have the opportunity to interact with technology other than when they visit the media center every other week for their special. We share a projector with 4 other first grade classrooms and there are no student computers in our classroom.
