I work in a high poverty area where many of my students receive free or reduced lunch. They have loving parents who work hard to provide them with what they need to be successful in school. At times even that is hard for them to do. That is why it did not surprise me when I asked my class if they had access to a computer or tablet at home and more than half them replied no. For most of them school is the only place they have the opportunity to use a computer. I try to provide them with as much exposure to computers and other forms of technology I can.
