The students I work with are amazing. For the majority of them school is a struggle, but they continue to put forth an effort everyday and are determined to reach their goals. My students take pride in their efforts and accomplishments.
Our school is located in a rural area of Northern Michigan, where school and community are intimately intertwined. Our building consists of about 400 students in grades K through 16. Our free and reduced lunch rate sits at just under 69% and approximately 25% of our students receive special education support services.
I primarily work with 4th and 5th grade students and teach Reading and Writing.
