The use of exercise balls in my classroom have been well liked by the Occupational Therapists in my school. The balls allow their brain to focus on work, as their body focuses on keeping its balance. The students with higher energy levels can even roll on them or lightly bounce. The amount of interruptions has been limited, by having some of my students sit on them during work time.
Last year I was able to get a few of the exercise balls to try out, and my students love them. They work well on them, and enjoy doing their work. I think if every child could each have their own to sit on, they would feel special and it would do wonders for their learning!
