Our students have the opportunity to have fresh fruits and vegetables everyday at school. Students sometimes ask, "What is this?" "Where did it come from?" Our goal as educators is to not only educate students about reading, writing, and arithmetic but to take education outside the classroom.
Having a garden will help our students make a connection and understand where their food came from. The students need planter boxes and gardening tools to create a garden that they can be responsible for. Students can take pride in watching their garden grow. This project will help spark an interest in something that our students can use in the future not only to help provide for themselves but other families in the community.
