We are a public high school community in the New England area that strongly believes that rigorous problem-solving and scientific inquiry are at the core of graduating college and work-ready students. Despite a reputation for difficulty, Physics is an essential science that focuses student development in critical problem-solving skills that extend well beyond just the curricular experience.
We believe that all students should take physics (not just advanced students) and that public scientific literacy is essential for the strength of a 21st century democracy. Our school acknowledges a national gender gap in physical science and engineering and is committed to encouraging female students to pursue college study in these fields. We are proud to report that we have measured success in this effort. Our students take physics at one of the three different levels they feel most comfortable in. A second year AP Physics course is also offered.
