My students come from a mostly urban setting. I have a wide range of students with different abilities, talents, and desires to learn. About half the students come from supportive, 2-parent homes. The other half come from single-parent or guardian run households and don't often get the encouragement they need. Many of my students feel inadequate about their ability to do well in a class like physics. I have found with hard work, healthy pressure and high expectations from me, and a little love, most kids end up loving physics.
