These are some of the most respectful, curious students I could ever hope to have. But I worry about their trauma, stress, and physical health. Yoga is a way to offer the students a way to connect with themselves, to focus on who they really are.
Further, my students barely receive Physical Education. It is offered only during their freshman and sophomore years. Studies have shown that yoga as a regular practice can help lower blood pressure, reduce heart disease, and improve strength and balance.
