Our school is over 75% free and reduced lunch. Over 50% of our families are Spanish speaking. We are an inner-city school in one of the most expensive cities in the country. Our school offers many after school and before school activities for our students since many live in small apartments or flats where outdoor and physical activity is difficult to do. As a school we dedicate most all of our discretionary funding to support our most vulnerable students and families. A high percentage of our funds go towards academic support staff for small group instruction and intervention as well as social workers and mental health professionals. We have very little left over for purchasing materials for the classrooms or for special projects.
