So often students are forced to read books that they don't like in school. This negative cycle leads to a lack of interest in reading, or worse, an outright hatred for literature. This project aims to fight that trajectory with new, popular titles such as The Poet X, The Hate U Give, I Am Not Your Mexican Daughter, The Crossover, and more.
If you walked into any Barnes & Noble store today, you would see all of these titles set out on a young-adult table as the newest and most popular selections. My goal is to provide my students with the opportunity to read these exciting books without having to empty their pockets to do so. Our new book shelf will help keep our new books organizes.
