Over 90 percent of my students get free breakfast and lunch at school. Their family can't afford to pay for their music lessons. Therefore, when they come to my music class, they are hungry to hear musical instruments and learn songs. My students love to sing and dance. However, I would like to get some instruments for them to play as well. It would be great resource for them when they actually get instruments in their hands from different parts of the world and make connections with their own culture. It would provide them a great opportunity to work on eye and hand coordination as they read rhythmic notes and play those with rhythm instruments. My students will benefit a huge deal from the process when they get to make music themselves. I believe every child deserves to learn music and play instruments in their childhood.
