For this project I am choosing Americanah by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie. This novel focuses on race, love, and identity in a post 9/11 world.
There is no specific textbook for AP Literature, so I piecemeal my curriculum from district owned novels and plays, while culling the internet for released poetry to utilize as well.
My AP Literature students definitely add to class discussion regardless of the topic at hand, however I'd like to link the parallels in a newer novel to their every day lives. I believe this book can relate to many different types of students in today's society.
