Students in my class enjoy working when given the option of where to complete work. The students currently have desks, but like to work in other areas when completing group work.
During silent reading time or group work, students enjoy working in areas with flexible seating. I currently have one couch in my room, which is used many days by different students. Giving them more choices to sit will benefit the climate within the classroom.
My project focuses on building a classroom with differentiated seating that focuses on children first. Many of my students want to learn in an environment that is suited to them. Often times, desks are not the answer and students need compatible seating to meet their needs.
