I have twenty bright and rambunctious students that absolutely love school! They are always smiling and excited as they enter every morning. What helps create such an ornate environment and affective climate are the books, both fiction and non-fiction that they are exposed to throughout daily lessons and independent reading times. But as a new educator I can only provide a limited selection of books, most of which are fiction. The school that I teach at is a Title I school and is limited on the materials and outcomes that it can provide to four-year olds up to eight-year olds that are enrolled here. Most of the students, 75% to be exact in my classroom receive free or reduced price lunch based on income. The students come from within Chesterfield County and live in single-parent homes. Almost all students enrolled live or come from poverty stricken homes and locations. I want to provide an effective place.
