In a class of only 13 students, we embraced the knowledge early on in the school year that we had the opportunity for so much learning to occur, because of the student to teacher ratio we are fortunate to have. These are urban students, many of them with challenges at home. The classroom is a safe, comfortable environment for them. It has to be, in order for them to grow academically. The joy on their faces lets me know that they are glad to come to school each day. And that is because of the room they are walking into.

About my class
