I work with elementary students who have different interests and range in age from 5-12 years. Most of my students are very strong-minded individuals and enjoy showing their creativity in different forms. The school I work in is in a rural setting, with most of the families of the students being low to middle income. Currently our percentage of free or reduced lunch stands near 98%. One of the standing initiatives at our school is improving student reading ability. As it stands, our students are below their required reading levels. An initiative to offer them a greater variety of books and to expand their technology and chances to read would be optimal.
