Visualize a small neighborhood school built in the 1920's. A picturesque Norman Rockwell scene. The school has grown throughout the years, and additions have been made. It does, however, have the pitfall of an old school, very little storage. My students are from many different racial backgrounds and economic groups. They live in an area of a bigger city where they are able to walk to their neighborhood school. There is a great sense of community and most of the children have known each other since they were in kindergarten. That makes for a wonderful classroom dynamic and the children are comfortable with each other and know the staff and principal very well. We are a close knit staff that work together for the benefit of every child and their education. We hold high expectations for learning but don't mind having a little fun, too!
