My fourth grade students are on the pathway to becoming independent readers. They are setting individual goals to improve their reading skills. Most students do not have access to a public library or books to read. Despite these obstacles, my students are developing a love of reading, and sharing it with younger students. Once a week, my fourth graders visit their first grade reading buddies to read with them.
