"I cannot live without books," a quote by the respected Thomas Jefferson is the driving force in our classroom. Developing a culture of rigor and excellence is one of the building blocks. Creating a positive culture based on the fundamental beliefs of building character traits helps us to foster a culture of learning, which, in turn, develops a strong community. The benefits of reading are limitless including improving: memory, focus, concentration, analytic thinking, and stimulation. By developing vocabulary, students will attain command of their learning and acquire the knowledge they need to be successful citizens in our community. Books and online tools such as headphones are much needed in our classroom.
