My classroom is filled with 17 busy, eager to learn kindergarteners. We are located in a very economically challenged area. My students are excited over the progress they are making this year. In a short time, we have gone from non readers to readers. We have written and illustrated our own books and have even hosted an "Awesome Author" event to showcase our writing. They love to participate in our Daily 5 activities. This is their absolute favorite part of the day. Here, they work on activities that involve reading, listening to reading, word work, and writing. They are helpful to one another and work cooperatively together. My students are truly a pleasure to teach.
