At my school we have about 1600 students. Of those 1600 in my classes I teach about 150 students. Those 150 students are in grades 9-12, but they provide services to the entire school, our two neighboring schools and the community. My students run the auditorium at our high school and they build the sets for productions here and at other schools.
Our school is a Title 1 high school with more than 80% of our student population categorized as ELD. Students vary in ethnicities, religions, genders, gender identity, sexuality, abilities, academic levels and socio economic backgrounds.
This class is categorized as a VAPA and a CTE which means that students receive training for a career pathway. This program has grown from 53 students and 3 sections to almost 200 students and 5 sections.
