Flexible seating helps students focus on the learning task because they are in a comfortable space that they have chosen themselves. I have some flexible seating options already. Currently my students are allowed to sit on some things I have made myself; yoga mats cut in half, milk crates with bouncy balls in them, and milk crates with a cushion on top. I also allow them to sit on bean bags or go under a table to work.
Flexible seating options are very popular with my students and I have seen the students' focus and learning increase because of these options. The wobbly chairs will be a great addition to the things that I have made or purchased because they will allow the student to get their wiggles out, stay engaged, and use some of their extra energy. Also, they are lightweight and can easily be moved and shared throughout the classroom.
The learning benefits and happiness my students will receive from these chairs will be extraordinary.
