My school is an inner city middle school located in a section of the city where crime and poverty are high. We are a school that has been hit very hard with budget cuts. We do not have a full time nurse or counselor. We have limited resources in our building. We ran out of copy paper for the whole building in May. There is no money to buy anymore and we will not have any in September. My students deserve better. Most of my students are children of immigrants or immigrants themselves. The ELL population at my school is huge. We have lost so many ELL teachers that the students are not being serviced. My students want to learn. I wish I could buy them everything they need to succeed. Unfortunately, it is so much more than what I can provide.
