Students would rather hold a real novel in their hands than read from a computer screen. My site does not have copies of Buried Onions. This is a great book that my students can connect with which keeps them interested and wanting to read more. When students have their own novel, they can add sticky notes with their ideas and questions. Most of my students rely on me for classroom materials and my recycled binders are pretty beat up and falling apart. In Math, doing paper and pencil work for hours is challenging for my students so breaking it up with games to reinforce skills helps keep them engaged in class and in learning.
