Did you know that writing in cursive helps to increase cognitive development? Learning to write in cursive will help improve brain development in the areas of memory, language, and thinking.
Writing in cursive will also increase the speed at which students write. As our students are getting older, they are being asked to write more critically and develop their writing to support an opinion. The speed at which a student can write helps to increase their attention span during written assignments.
Cursive writing will also keep our students connected to past generations. Reading historical documents and even reading cards and letters from grandparents will be lost to an entire generation if our students do not learn this important skill.
