Please help expand our classroom library. Whether I'm reading to my students from home or from school, they need to see themselves in books. They need to see people who have faced challenges, overcome obstacles, and made a difference in the world. I want them to see themselves in books with kids doing ordinary things as well as extraordinary things. I want books with relatable characters and I want them to be able to identify with characters to allow for deeper comprehension. I will use these books to read to students on a regular basis throughout the school year. I want to have a wide variety of these books on display for the students to choose for looking at/reading independently too.
