My students are middle school kids. They all have their individual personalities and needs. They are learning how to deal with life, family, friends, and peers, in addition to their academics. They are at the age were they are trying to figure out who they are and how they fit in. Many of my students do not have a stable home life and a little over half of them receive free or reduced lunch.
My school is located in a rural area with about 80 student per grade level. My morning group of students are a respectful hard working group, most days, who want to learn. They will discuss problems together and stay focused on the lesson. My afternoon class struggles with math and contains many student with learning disabilities and attendance issues. They are a fun and animated group of students who are extremely accepting of each others differences.
