I teach 5th grade in a low socioeconomic area, and all of my students come from differing backgrounds, as we are a very diverse community. Many of my students are English Language Learners, and some also require additional services. The students bring their own perspectives, talents, and personalities into the class, where they are free to be themselves. Each student can add something to any activity that we are doing, or discussion that we are having. My students help me to see life in different ways, through their eyes, and we all learn together each and every day.
