Currently, our science curriculum is based out of a textbook from 1999. This is before most of our students were even born. New, up-to-date materials and technology will better engage our students. I'm requesting a variety of Lyle + Louise science kits including Forensic Entomology, Blood Spatter, DNA Typing, Drug Testing and Analysis, Fingerprint Analysis, Bullet Striations, Questioned Documents, Gunshot Residue, and Hair + Fiber Analysis. The study of forensics will get our students excited to learn and keep them motivated and eager to learn more. This material will be current, and something students can relate to. They will not only stay engaged, but they will be learning the key skills of collaboration, communication and critical thinking as they work together in small groups to solve the murder mystery of Lyle and Louise.
