Kindergarten is the place where many first experiences happen for students. This is the place where a majority of our students learn to read. At our school we have 3 Kindergarten teachers with an average of 24/25 students in the classroom.
The city we live in has a population of 20,000. In 2013, our high school graduating class had 31% planning to attend a 4 year college/university and 26% of the students planning to attend a 2 year college or vocational school. Currently, none of the classroom teachers have iPads for instructional use. This year we have been able to borrow two iPads and have seen the academic benefits this piece of technology has provided for our students. Many students do not have iPads at home and love the opportunity to play learning games with the apps.
