Studies show that students learn when they become responsible for their own learning. Think about the student who can use these manipulatives and games to grasp a math concept or to problem solve, then use them to explain the concept to a friend! These math manipulatives and games will provide not only the foundation to many math concepts, but allow students to explore and expand their knowledge for higher order of thinking!
These math games and manipulatives will provide opportunities for my students to explore many different concepts in a concrete and fun way! Student will use counters, links, number bond sets and hundreds board games to develop their number sense. Games like Sequence Numbers and Sea 10 will build fluency in addition and subtraction facts.
