Many of my students are self-proclaimed "NON-READERS", but in my class there's no such thing. Students are given the opportunity to self-select reading material and given 10 minutes or more per day to just read. During this time, I help students find a book that fits their taste and then teach them how readers talk about what they are reading. There is nothing better than hearing a "non-reader" spend 5 minutes excitedly telling me about the book they are reading. This project will help me diversify my classroom library to allow students more opportunities to find texts with characters who look and sound like them. Many of my students get hooked on reading with Graphic Novels.
