My students come from ethnically diverse backgrounds and families that do not usually have money to go out and buy books. They are able to check out books from the school library, but due to the selection limitations, the students often have to wait weeks in order to check-out newer books. Several of the books that my students and I have chosen are not currently in our library. I have personally been purchasing books for my students, and I cannot buy them fast enough.
