Story boxes for students with visual impairments are essential and bring the story to life; they make it meaningful, real, and interesting. Story boxes are essential when teaching students with visual impairments, and they are a critical support to students with dual sensory loss. These items are all in the story of The Very Hungry Caterpillar by Eric Carle. The students will be given the object to hold when the story is told. They will be able to listen, act out, and understand the story better. My students love these story boxes.
Just a note to donors: I do try to use real objects first but would really like to have objects that go with the story for my students that already understand what the objects are in the story.
