The students with whom I work are bright, curious, struggling readers. Most students are in grades 1st-3rd and work with me in small groups to remediate their reading and writing skills. Most of the children that attend my school come from low-income households. I believe that their horizons can be broadened and they can learn about what the world has to offer through the power of books. If we can build a strong foundation in literacy skills, they have more opportunity to soar.
