Many students at my school live at or below the poverty line. So many, in fact, that 100% of our students receive free breakfast and lunch at school. But their less than ideal circumstances do not deter them from being successful in the classroom. Students in my AP Calculus BC class had to work hard and take accelerated math classes to even be eligible to be in the class. Many have already taken AP Calculus AB but some of the top students from Honor's Pre-Calculus will also be in my Calculus BC class. All of them are excited to be taking a class that hasn't even been offered at our school in recent memory.
