We are a Title One school, with a high number of disadvantaged students. Many of my students do not have access to a computer at home. Our administrator is desperately trying to outfit every grade level with laptops, Chromebooks, or iPads, but our school's budget is tight, and there is not enough funding to accomplish this lofty goal. I would like to help my classroom acquire a couple of Chromebooks to enable my students to have free rein to using the tools they love. I am trying to get my students to become college and career ready, but I am at a disadvantage without the technological tools needed for my students to be successful in the future. Education is no longer just about learning and memorizing facts and figures; drill and kill is out. Today, it's all about collaborating with others, solving complex problems, developing different forms of communication and leadership skills, and improving motivation and productivity.
